CLASSES - 2019-2020

The Viewpoint Photo Club offers several classes per year on subjects related to photography.

This year, Cynthia Gledhill will be teaching classes on Photoshop Elements. As post processing becomes more important each year and we are greatful for Cynthia for providing instruction.

Topics to be covered are:

  • Guided editing
  • Expert editing.
  • What is Photoshop Elements, what it does, tools available and how to work with them.
  • Editing in expert mode will cover topics such as lighting, straightening, haze removal, removal of unwanted items, working with layers etc.

Dates

  • Section 1 - Beginners - January 6 and 13 from 9-12 in Classroom. This class is full however there is room in the second class.
  • Section 1 - Intermediate - January 20 and 27 from 9-12 in Classroom 1.
  • Section 2 - Beginners - February 17 and 24 from 9-12 in Classroom 1.

  • Section 2 - Intermediate - March 2 and 9 from 9-12 in Classroom 1.

A charge of $20 per person per class will assessed to help offset the purchase of software for all of the classroom 1 computers and the fee charged by the Tech Club for the classroom use.

It is necessary to take the beginners level of Photoshop Elements in order to take part in the Intermediate class.

There are 3 ways to register for the class:

  • Sign up at one of the Photo Club meetings,
  • Contact Rita (5202) or Paul (0607), or,
  • Sign up online (see above).

ONLINE Courses

Many educational resources can be found online by doing a search on youtube or taking mini courses through lynda.com. If you belong to the Mesa Public Library, lynda.com courses are free. Courses include: Photo Restoration, Photoshop Hints etc. There are also several courses on computers.
